Mom'S Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. navy beans
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
    3/4 Tbsp. pepper
    1/2 lb. lard, cut in pieces
    2 Tbsp. Karo syrup (dark or light)
Preparation
    Cook beans on top of stove in water, covering beans 1-inch for 2 hours.
    Put in ovensafe dish, add and mix other ingredients. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 4 hours.
