Frosting Supreme - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine milk and cornstarch in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened.
    Stir constantly.
    Remove mixture from heat and cool.
    Combine sugar, shortening, butter, vanilla, lemon extract and salt.
    Add cornstarch mixture and cream until smooth. Frosts two 9 inch layers.
    Excellent on angel food cake.
