Perfect Pie Meringue - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

In deep bowl, beat egg whites with vanilla and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
Do not overbeat egg whites before adding sugar or meringue will leak, making top of pie filling moist and slippery.
Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff, glossy peak forms and sugar dissolves.
Rub some meringue between your fingers; you shouldn't feel any sugar granules.
Spread meringue over hot filling.
To prevent meringue from shrinking while baking, seal to edges of pastry.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until meringue is golden.
