Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 or 2 drops food coloring (optional)
1/2 c. walnuts

Preparation

Beat egg whites until peaks form.
Cook all ingredients, except vanilla, food coloring and walnuts.
Boil to a hard ball stage.
Add coloring and vanilla, then add to egg whites and beat on medium speed until all gloss has left.
Add walnuts, then spoon out onto waxed paper until set up.
