Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. milk plus 3/4 c. extra for later
    1/2 c. raisins
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 c. sugar (could use less)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 egg yolks
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. vanilla pudding powder (not instant)
    cinnamon
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Put milk into a large pot with high flame and bring to a boil. Add rice and salt.
    With medium-low flame, cook about 30 minutes with cover off; stir often.
