1-2-3-4 Yellow Cake Batter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. plain flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 eggs, separated
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream
    shortening.
    Add sugar and cream well.
    Add well beaten egg yolks.\tThen add flour that has been sifted 3 times with
    salt and baking powder along with milk (a little of each at
    a
    time). Last,
    fold in well beaten egg whites.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Makes 3 square layers.
    Also, this recipe is used for cupcakes.
