Fig Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter or oleo
    4 eggs
    1 pt. fig preserves
    3 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar; add eggs 1 at a time.
    Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add to batter alternating with figs and milk.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Bake 1 hour or more at 325\u00b0 in a tube pan.
