Wassail - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    4 pieces whole cinnamon
    1 to 2 oranges
    1/2 gal. apple cider
    1/2 c. rum
    1/4 c. brandy
Preparation
    Combine cider, cloves, cinnamon and oranges, cut into eighths, in a Dutch oven and bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
    Remove from heat and discard spices.
    Serve warm. Garnish each serving with a cinnamon stick.
