Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 oz. red food coloring (1/4 c.)
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs and cream well.
    Make paste of food coloring, vanilla and cocoa; add to first mixture.
    Add salt to buttermilk and add alternately with flour.
    Put soda into vinegar and fold into mixture lightly.
    Do not beat; just blend.
    Bake in well-greased and floured cake pan at 350\u00b0 in 2 layers.
