Orange Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 small can mandarin oranges, chopped and drained
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg
    lemon juice, salt and vanilla
    4 Tbsp. cornstarch
    4 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Boil the water, sugar and chopped oranges 5 minutes.
    Add all remaining ingredients except cornstarch and water (4 teaspoons water).
    Cook until butter is melted.
    Dissolve cornstarch in water.
    Add to sauce.
    Boil until thick and syrupy about 20 minutes.
