Caldillo(Mexican Stew) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. stew meat, cut in small pieces
    5 lb. potatoes, diced
    1 or 2 large onions, diced
    3 small cans diced chilies
    3 large cans stewed tomatoes
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 c. picante sauce
Preparation
    Brown meat and onions.
    Transfer to a soup kettle and add remaining ingredients and cook until potatoes are soft.
    For hotter stew, add more picante sauce.
    Great meal on a cold day served with flour tortillas.
