Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. cut up dates (1 c.)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nuts
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Combine dates, soda and water; cool.
    Combine butter, flour, soda, sugar and eggs, beating after each egg.
    Add cocoa and salt. Add mixture to date mixture.
    Combine nuts, sugar and chocolate chips, then sprinkle on top of cake.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
