Chicken Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small can diced green chili peppers (optional)
    1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 (12 oz.) can water chestnuts
    1 (12 oz.) Monterey Jack cheese, grated
    1 onion, chopped
    1 whole chicken, cooked and deboned
    1 (12 count) pkg. corn tortillas
Preparation
    Tear tortillas into strips and line bottom and sides of 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Saute onions, then add soup, Ro-Tel tomatoes and peppers; cook over low heat until mixed well.
    Layer in pan the cooked chicken, chestnuts and cheese.
    Pour soup mixture over top, then top off with more cheese.
    Cover and cook at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until hot.
    This dish can be made the night before and put in refrigerator.
    Can also use turkey.
