Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 lb. cukes, sliced
    2 gal. water
    2 c. lime
    2 qt. vinegar
    5 lb. sugar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 oz. pickling spice, tied in cheesecloth
Preparation
    Let cukes soak in lime water 24 hours.
    Stir often.
    Wash well and drain.
    Add vinegar, sugar and salt.
    Let set 3 hours.
    Add pickling spice.
    Cook about 40 minutes until translucent.
    Seal hot in hot jars.
    Yields 5 quarts.
