Bessie'S Buckeyes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) box 10x sugar
    1 1/4 c. peanut butter
    1/2 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla, butter and nut flavoring
    1 lb. dark chocolate candy coating wafers
Preparation
    In a large bowl, mix butter, peanut butter and flavoring.
    Add sugar, a little at a time, mixing well after each addition.
    Roll into 3/4-inch balls and place on waxed paper on a cookie sheet. If mixture sticks to your hands, add a little more sugar.
    Don't make it too dry.
    Put balls in the freezer until very well chilled.
    Melt wafers over hot water in double boiler.
    Stirk toothpick in center of almost frozen or frozen balls.
    Dip in chocolate; cover all but the top.
    Let drip.
    Place back on waxed paper.
    Remove toothpick.
    Repeat until all balls are dipped. When buckeyes come to room temperature, close hole.
