Fideo Pronto - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (5 oz.) pkg. vermicelli
    1 (16 oz.) can diced stewed tomatoes
    3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Heat bacon drippings in medium size skillet.
    Add uncooked vermicelli; saute over medium flame, stirring constantly, until golden brown.
    Add tomatoes and sugar.
    Cover and steam for 8 minutes, or
    until vermicelli is firm, but tender to taste.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Sprinkle with Parmesan, if desired.
    Serves 5.
