Gramma'S Chocolate Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. white Karo syrup
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt chocolate, butter, sugar, Karo syrup and milk.
    Cook to soft ball stage.
    Cool until lukewarm.
    Add vanilla and nuts. Beat until it starts to lose its gloss.
    Pour into buttered 8-inch square pan.
