Georgia Pecan Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick oleo or butter
    1 egg, beaten
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. flour
    1 c. nuts
    1/2 box brown sugar
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Melt oleo and brown sugar together.
    Cool, add eggs and vanilla.
    Add sifted ingredients.
    Add nuts last. Bake in greased flat pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 325\u00b0 until batter shrinks from sides of pan. Do not overcook.
    Cut into bars and roll in powdered sugar while warm.
    Double recipe for 9 x 13-inch pan or larger pan for thinner bars.
