Ingredients

1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges
5 c. finely shredded cabbage
1 c. thinly sliced celery
1/2 c. raisins or chopped dates
1 large banana
1 tart apple
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. orange flavored yogurt
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. poppy seed
Preparation

Drain oranges, reserving syrup.
In a serving bowl, mix together oranges, cabbage, celery and raisins.
Slice banana and dice apple; combine with mandarin orange syrup and lemon juice. Pour over banana and apple, stirring to coat to prevent darkening. Then, with a slotted spoon, remove fruit and add to slaw along with nuts.
Combine 2 tablespoons of the juice mixture with yogurt and salt.
Blend until smooth.
Pour over salad and mix gently. Sprinkle with poppy seed.
