Happence Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

ham bone, chicken backs or beef bones
1 can tomatoes or 3 fresh
several pods okra or some frozen okra
1 stalk celery
1 medium onion
3 or 4 carrots
3 ears fresh corn, cut off cob or 1 can cream-style corn
3 or 4 potatoes
Preparation

Make meat stock from the ham bone, chicken backs or beef bones. To that stock, add the tomatoes, okra, celery, onion, carrots, corn and potatoes.
Bring to a boil and cook until tender.
Add meat off chicken, ham or beef bones.
Serve with cornpone bread or saltine crackers.
