Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped raw potatoes
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/4 c. rice
    1/2 tsp. dry thyme
    2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shredded cabbage
    1 c. chopped onions
    1 c. diced carrots
    2 1/2 c. tomatoes
    1 small bay leaf, crushed
    1/4 tsp. basil
    dash of pepper
    1 1/2 qt. water
Preparation
    Brown ground beef lightly.
    Add onions, potatoes, carrots and celery.
    Add tomatoes and bring to a boil.
    Add rice and spices. Then add cabbage and water.
    Cover and simmer 1 hour.
