Grandma'S Nut Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. honey
1/2 c. sugar
4 c. walnuts, chopped

Preparation

Mix honey and sugar together in lightly oiled 3-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat until boiling.
Boil, without stirring, for 10 minutes.
Stir in nuts.
Insert candy thermometer and bring mixture to 270\u00b0.
Remove from heat.
Pour candy onto wet work surface.
The mixture will be very thick.
Form into large square about 1-inch thick.
Cut into smaller squares with very sharp knife.
Makes 5 dozen.
