Applesauce Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. applesauce, hot and sweetened
1 egg
1 c. raisins, cut fine
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, well beaten.
Sift flour, spices, salt and soda three times together and add nuts and raisins, then add to the creamed mixture, alternating with applesauce.
Bake in moderate oven.
