Sweet Lime Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 heaping gal. sliced or chunked cucumbers
2 gal. water
2 heaping c. lime
3 qt. vinegar
12 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
2 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. whole cloves
Preparation

Dissolve lime thoroughly before adding the cucumbers; it won't all dissolve.
Let stand 24 hours.
Stir occasionally with hand or wooden spoon gently.
Take cucumbers out of lime water; rinse 3 or 4 times.
Let stand in cold water for 3 hours.
Drain in colander; put the solution over cucumbers.
Let set all day or overnight.
