Ingredients

1/2 c. butter flavored Crisco
6 eggs, beaten after each addition
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. buttermilk*

Preparation

* Buttermilk can be made with 1 cup milk and 1 tablespoon vinegar; let stand.
