Rice Pilaf - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. rice
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed chicken broth
1 2/3 c. water
1/2 tsp. marjoram
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. sliced celery
1 c. diced, peeled tomato
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
1/2 lb. cooked fresh shrimp
Preparation

Saute onion in butter until soft, but not browned.
Add rice and stir over moderate heat 3 or 4 minutes, until rice grains appear white and opaque.
Add broth, water, salt, seasonings, celery and tomato.
Heat to boiling.
Cover and turn heat to low and cook 15 minutes.
Add peas and shrimp.
Cook 5 minutes longer.
Cook until rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed. Makes 5 servings.
