Ginger Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 small egg
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, molasses and water thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in.
    Chill dough.
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0 (moderate heat).
    Drop dough by teaspoons about 2 inches apart onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
    Cookies will spread slightly during baking.
    Bake about 8 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched lightly.
    Makes about 4 dozen 2-inch cookies.
