Italian Style Minestrone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. boiling water
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can cooked chickpeas or kidney beans
    1 (10 oz. ) pkg. frozen cut green beans
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    2 c. chopped cabbage
    1 large can Italian tomatoes
    2 large celery stalks, chopped
    1 large onion, quartered
    4 medium carrots, diced
    1/4 lb. spaghetti, broken into 1-inch pieces
    1 bay leaf
    4 sprigs parsley
    2 tsp. salt or vegetable bouillon
Preparation
    To the boiling water, add all ingredients except the spaghetti.
    Simmer for 30 minutes, then add the spaghetti. Continue to simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Add 1 tablespoon olive oil or other before serving.
