Black-Eyed Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans (15 oz. each) black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
    1/2 c. red onion rings
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 small garlic clove, minced
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    dash of pepper
    dash of hot pepper sauce (optional)
Preparation
    In a medium salad bowl combine peas, onion, green pepper, and garlic.
    Stir together all remaining ingredients and pour over vegetable mixture.
    Chill.
    Cover for at least 12 hours in refrigerator.
    Yield:
    8 servings.
