German Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

4 Tbsp. salad oil or bacon fat
4 c. shredded red cabbage
2 tart apples, sliced
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
Preparation

Heat oil in large skillet; add remaining ingredients.
Cover tightly; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes or until tender.
