Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. Wesson oil
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 c. fig preserves
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda and spices.
Gradually add oil and beat well.
Add figs, nuts and vanilla.
Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325\u00b0.
Pour sauce over cake while still warm.
