Mother'S Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 heaping c. sugar
    1 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. butter
    1 egg
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Sift flour in a tray.
    Make a hole in flour as for making biscuits.
    Put all ingredients in the hole; work with fingers until well mixed and moderately stiff.
    Roll thin, cut with cookie cutter and sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake in a hot oven.
