Crusty Pound Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
6 eggs, at room temperature
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Preheat oven to 250\u00b0.
Sift flour 3 times; measure 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons.
Cream shortening and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
Add eggs alternately with flour, beating well after each addition.
Add salt and vanilla; beat well.
Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Increase oven temperature to 325\u00b0.
Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Do not open oven door during baking time.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Invert onto serving plate.

16 servings.
