A Friend'S Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 turkey hind quarter or 2 thighs, boned and cut into 1-inch pieces
    3 large red potatoes
    6 small carrots
Preparation
    Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper; sprinkle with chili powder (as salt).
    Drop meat in bag with 1/2 cup flour and shake to coat all sides.
    In large skillet with a lid, heat 1/2-inch oil.
    Add meat and brown all pieces.
    Remove meat and drain well.
    Drain oil from pan; replace meat in pan.
    Add vegetables, cut in pieces. Add hot water to barely cover; bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.
    Feel free to add onions, celery or whatever to this stew!
