Hoecake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
cold water
bacon drippings

Preparation

In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour and salt.
Add enough water to make a soft batter.
Heat bacon drippings in frying pan; pour into batter.
Cook slowly until brown.
Turn.
Brown second side. Yields 1 cake.
