Apple Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    3 c. peeled, chopped apples
    cinnamon
    1 stick margarine or butter
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients together; roll dough into rectangle shape.
    Spread apples over dough; sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Roll up like a jelly roll.
    Cut into 3/4-inch slices.
    Place in a baking dish with 1 stick of melted butter.
    Mix 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup water and pour syrup over rolls.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Great with ice cream.
