Creamed Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
    2 medium carrots, grated
    1 celery stalk, diced
    1 small onion, diced
    1 small jar mushrooms (bits and pieces)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. garlic salt
    1/4 lb. butter
    1 c. grated mild Cheddar cheese
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Cook first 4 ingredients until tender in 2 cups of water.
    Add mushrooms, salt and garlic salt.
    Let simmer 1 minute.
    Dissolve cornstarch in milk and stir into hot ingredients.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add butter and cheese.
    Simmer until butter and cheese are melted.
    Makes 6 cups.
