Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 lb. chopped candied cherries
    1 lb. candy orange slices, chopped
    2 c. nuts, chopped
    1 can flaked coconut
    1 c. fresh orange juice
    2 c. confectioners sugar
Preparation
    Cream butter or margarine and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add to creamed mixture.
    (This makes a very stiff dough that should be mixed with hands.)
    Put in a greased 13 x 9 x 3-inch cake pan.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
