Grandmother'S Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 to 2 lb. navy or white Northern beans
    4 medium onions
    7 or 8 slices bacon
    slab side meat
    2 cans tomato puree
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Wash the beans and let soak in warm water overnight.
    Simmer the beans until about half-done.
    Fry the diced onions in bacon grease until clear.
    Add the tomato puree to the onions and cook for about 10 minutes.
    Pour the onion mixture into the beans and cook until done.
    Pour the beans after discarding slab of meat into an oblong baking dish.
    Cover the top of the beans with slices of bacon.
    Pepper and brown in the oven until the bacon is done.
