Carol'S Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 small can coconut
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Cream margarine and shortening.
    Add sugar and egg yolks.
    Beat and add buttermilk, soda, flour, vanilla, nuts and coconut.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
    Makes three 9-inch layers.
