Mel'S Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. oil
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 bottle red food coloring
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Cream sugar and oil in large mixing bowl. Add eggs, beating well after each. In a separate large bowl, sift together cake flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa.
Add food coloring to mixture of sugar, oil and eggs. Alternately add buttermilk and flour, starting with buttermilk and ending with flour. Add vanilla and vinegar. Beat until well-mixed. Pour into 3 greased and floured cake pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely on racks.
