Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. water (cold)
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 unbeaten egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Put bottom of double boiler on flame; fill with water so top will fit 1-inch in water.
Boil water.
Take from flame; put on flat surface to beat.
Place all ingredients in top of boiler.
Set in bottom pan of hot water and beat 4 minutes.
