Strawberry Scharm - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks, beaten well
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    4 Tbsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    4 egg whites
    1/2 c. sugar
    approximately 1 qt. strawberries
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together and add beaten egg yolks.
    Add milk, vanilla and dry ingredients.
    Put in 2 greased layer cake pans.
    Beat 4 egg whites stiff with 1/2 cup sugar.
    Spread over dough and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
    Bake 25 minutes in 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 oven.
    Put sweetened, mashed or sliced strawberries between layers and cover with whipped cream.
