Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar, packed down
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0 about 1 hour ahead of time.
    Grease and flour 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch pan and bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
    Yields 2 1/2 dozen.
