Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. soda
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. fine dry bread crumbs
3 Tbsp. melted butter
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. persimmon pulp
2 c. chopped dates
2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Sift flour with sugar, soda, baking powder and salt.
Stir in the bread crumbs.
Combine the melted butter with milk and vanilla; add to dry ingredients and mix until blended.
Stir in the persimmon pulp, dates and nuts.
Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 about 1 hour.
Serve with lemon sauce, whipped cream or ice cream.
Yields 8 to 10 servings.
