Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 to 25 dill size (about 4-inch) cucumbers
    powdered alum
    fresh dill (with seed)
    small hot red peppers
    1 qt. (4 c.) vinegar
    1 c. pure salt
    3 qt. water
Preparation
    Wash the cucumbers.
    Put in a pan of cold water; let stand overnight.
