Hawaiian Fruit Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. cornstarch or flour
    3 oz. pkg. orange or lemon jello
    16 oz. can pie cherries, drained
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 bananas (approximately)
    Cool Whip
    2 deep dish pie shells or 3 regular shells, baked
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch, then add crushed pineapple (juice included).
    Mix thoroughly and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened.
    Stir in jello, stirring until dissolved; cool.
    Add cherries and nuts.
    Line baked pie shells with sliced bananas, sides and bottom.
    Fill with jello mixture and top with Cool Whip; refrigerate.
