Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (7 oz.) 7-Up
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    6 medium baking apples
    1/4 c. butter
    pastry for 2 crust pie
Preparation
    Mix together soft drink, cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg.
    Simmer until sugar dissolves.
    Add butter and remove from heat.
    Peel, core and cut apples in half.
    Roll out pastry and cut into squares large enough for each half apple.
    Sprinkle apples with additional cinnamon, sugar and butter.
    Fold pastry over apples and place in baking dish.
    Pour syrup over the apples and pastry.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
