Meat Loaf Roasted With Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground round steak
    1/2 lb. ground pork steak
    1 small boiled potato, mashed or 1/2 c. boiled rice
    1 c. bread crumbs
    1 egg
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. sage
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. grated onion (optional)
    1 medium size head of cabbage
Preparation
    Remove outer leaves of cabbage.
    Cut in fourths and remove stalk.
    Break leaves apart and cover bottom of roaster.
    Sprinkle with salt; pour a little boiling water over.
    Put on cover; set over fire to steam until a little wilted.
    Mix and beat meat loaf mixture well.
    Form 2 oblong loaves; place on top of cabbage. Place in oven; roast for about 2 hours.
    Turn the loaves and stir cabbage occasionally.
