War Cake, Eggless, Milkless, Butterless Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 pkg. raisins
3 c. water
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. lard or drippings
all kinds of spices

Preparation

Boil this 3 or 4 minutes.
Cool.
Add flour to thicken (when cool).
Add 1 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon baking powder, nuts and cocoa.
Bake in moderate oven.
